The Challenge: The "Agency vs. Client" Gap (and a Secret Bike)
The brief for London-based agency Family Creative was clear: launch the TVS Ronin, a ground-breaking new motorcycle designed by JVB Moto in Germany, to a global audience.
However, commercial production is rarely about just pointing a camera. It’s about politics and protection.
The Cultural Gap: We had a London creative agency and a massive Indian corporate client. The workflows, expectations, and communication styles are worlds apart. The agency needed to maintain their creative vision; the client needed to ensure brand compliance.
The "Skeleton Crew" Anxiety: To maximize the budget, the agency flew in light—just the Producer, Director, and DOP. They needed us to fill every other role, from Gaffer to Grip to Art Director, with locals who could match the pace and polish of a London unit.
Maximum Security: The bike was a prototype. It didn't exist yet in the public eye. One leaked photo from a crew member's smartphone would have destroyed a multimillion-dollar launch strategy.
The Solution: Diplomacy and "Slumdog" Talent
We didn't just provide equipment; we provided a production infrastructure that spoke both "London Agency" and "Indian Corporate."
World-Class Local Crew: The agency was worried about local talent. We weren't. We staffed the unit with technicians from our roster who had cut their teeth on Life of Pi, Mission Impossible, and Slumdog Millionaire. When the London DOP asked for a specific lighting setup, our local Gaffer didn't just understand it; he improved it. We proved you don't need to fly in a circus to get world-class results.
The Iron Dome of Security: We treated the set like a black site. NDAs were ironclad. All mobile devices and cameras were confiscated at the perimeter—no exceptions. We managed the security protocols so strictly that the client felt reassured, and the agency could focus on the shoot.
The Translator: Tony Cordeaux (GFS Founder) spent years producing commercials in London. He understands the agency/client dynamic. We acted as the bridge, translating the creative vision of the Director into actionable logistics for the Indian unit, and translating the corporate requirements of TVS into language the agency could work with.
The Outcome
The commercial launched the TVS Ronin to international acclaim, perfectly capturing the bike's "unscripted" ethos.
The agency flew home having delivered a high-end film without blowing the budget on flights and hotels. The client got their global launch without a single security leak. We proved that with the right Line Producer, you can shoot a high-gloss automotive commercial in India with a local crew that rivals any unit in Soho or Santa Monica.
