Case Study: Guy Martin ‘Our Guy In India’ – 1000 Mile Road Trip Logistics
The Challenge: A 1,000-Mile Road Trip on a Tight Deadline
For this primetime Channel 4 travel documentary, North One TV had an ambitious brief: take celebrity motorcycle racer and mechanic Guy Martin on a 1,000-mile journey across the sub-continent, from the markets of Delhi to the Rider Mania race in Goa.
The production faced two major hurdles. First, the schedule was grueling, involving a mix of riding a Royal Enfield Bullet and navigating India's complex transport network of trains, planes, and boats. Second, the shoot was pulled together at the last minute. The production team needed a partner who could independently handle on-the-ground research and recces before they arrived, ensuring they could capture authentic, non-cliché content without slowing down the journey.
The Solution: "India Made Easy" for a Fast-Moving Crew
This is where our UK-managed approach proved vital. We didn't just "fix" the shoot; we engineered the logistics to ensure the crew could keep up with Guy Martin.
We independently managed the pre-production research, identifying unique stories that satisfied the channel's brief for an "unseen" India. On the ground, our team implemented our "India Made Easy" workflow, seamlessly coordinating a complex web of logistics—securing last-minute train tickets, domestic flights, support vehicles, and accommodation. By managing the "chaos" of Indian travel behind the scenes, we ensured the crew kept to the ambitious schedule and, crucially, managed to get some sleep in between the long days on the road.
What Our Client Said
“I wanted to take the first opportunity I had to thank you for your patience, persistence and presence throughout set-up/filming. Things really couldn’t have gone any smoother considering the last minute nature of the shoot, and I think that’s largely to do with your hard work.”
